Diagnosing Evildea: The Mother Tongue Trap in Dreaming Spanish

@Evildea  recently crossed the 1000-hour mark using the ALG method via @DreamingSpanish  -  Naturally, the language learning community is focused on the results. However, evaluating output without understanding the underlying mechanics is a flawed metric.

In this video, I run a quick and nasty phonetic audit on not only his Spanish, but also on his English AND the Native Spanish Speakers' own Spanish. We look past the standard advice of 'listening to natives' and focus on the articulatory reality. Before you can accurately map the sounds of a target language, you must first establish your own phonetic baseline. We analyse Evildea's native English prosody to identify exactly what happens when those hardwired habits collide with native Spanish phonology.

If you are relying purely on passive input without tuning your ear to your own articulation, you are likely hardwiring your mother tongue into your target language. Here is a look at the mechanics, the friction points, and how I would approach the data.
