People often claim there is "no evidence" for something and try to use that as a powerful argument. They're often being biased or hypocritical. There are philosophical reasons they're wrong (they should look for refutations not justifications – we learn by error correction not building up positive proof, as Karl Popper and Critical Rationalism talk about). And they should think conceptually about the issues. And they're often ignoring a bunch of evidence that we do have, which they seem to think somehow doesn't count. I talk about examples where the "no evidence" argument is used including for mold, COVID vaccines, sunscreen, food additives like red dye 40 and plant extracts like "natural" sweeteners. I talk about some scientific studies, particularly about whether mold is dangerous. I also talk about how plants have defense mechanisms against being eaten.
