[0:00] People believe eating meat kills animals, but eating plants doesn't. Let's look deeper. Farms use pesticides on crops that kill vast numbers of insects and get into the ground water. Fields have mammals in them, like field mice. Farmers have cats protect their crops by killing mice. Farmers poison the mice. Tilling and harvesting fields kills mice. Researchers concluded 40 mice are killed per acre of wheat. That acre has 6 million calories, compared to 1 million in a cow. So eating 1 cow saves around 6 mice. Don't judge by size. [0:30] Mice solve mazes and seem about as smart or capable of suffering as cows. Dogs are smaller than cows, but they're smarter and we treat them better. So, by ethical vegan logic, eating hamburger patties seems better than eating buns. Carnivores may be more ethical than vegetarians. The truth isn't obvious. Don't conclude now that eating beef is good. Deeper analysis is needed to reach a confident conclusion. My point is everyone should think more and question more assumptions.
