[0:00] I found out yesterday in the hospital that I'm having my sixth miscarriage, and I was denied a medical abortion. And I want to talk about it because I've never seen anybody share a story like this online. On Saturday, I got my HCG results back from Friday, and I Learned that my HCG had not doubled in an entire week, which is a really concerning sign. I'm having some pain on my right side. I'm concerned this could be an ectopic pregnancy. I went to the hospital. I immediately did blood work and found out that my HCG had actually dropped by 50 in three days. [0:30] They then took me back for an ultrasound. The ultrasound tech looked at me dead in the eyes, and she said, I'm not supposed to tell you, but if it were me, I would want somebody to tell me. And she said, you're supposed to be six weeks and three days today, but you have an empty sack measuring five weeks and three days. There is no fetus, no fetal pole, no yolk sac. It looks like a blighted ovum to me. Your pain is coming from a hemorrhage that is next to the sack. I knew that there was no chance I was a week behind. [1:02] It is scientifically impossible for me to be a week behind because I had a lab draw at 11 DPO and that HCG came back at eleven. If I was a week behind, then my HCG On 4 DPO would have been 11, and I would have gotten at home positive pregnancy test at 3 DPO, which is scientifically proven to be impossible. So I go back to the room, and the doctor comes in, and he said, okay, well, you're good to go. Like, you don't have an ectopic pregnancy. You'll just need a repeat scan in a week, follow up with your OB. I said, excuse me? Like, [1:32] I need to repeat scan in a week. I said, this is not a viable pregnancy. We know this is not a viable pregnancy. And he goes, yeah, it looks like it's not a viable pregnancy. Your HCG is dropping. It's impossible for you to be a week behind, and there's an empty sac. And at five weeks and four days, if it was a viable pregnancy, we'd at least be seeing, like, a yolk sac and fetal pole. So I agree, not viable. Right. So, okay, great. You agree it's not viable. I'd like. I don't want to see my empty sack in a week. Can we do a DNC may appeal, something to help me pass it? I'm going on vacation next week. I do not want the trauma. [2:03] Having a miscarriage while I'm on vacation with my family. Didn't even say, I'm sorry. He said, no. Unfortunately, the law says in South Carolina that we have to go by the ultrasound, and the ultrasound recommendation is a follow up in a week. I also Have to have counseling. I've been waiting to post this video until I got a second opinion and confirmation for the second opinion. And I just got a call from a different OB's office saying that I would need two more weekly scans [2:34] before I can have the DNC or the pill. Which feels really, really cruel because everybody knows this is not a viable pregnancy. And I just have to feel pregnant for two to three more weeks until I can have medical intervention because my body is not getting the hint to pass the pregnancy. It just feels so wrong.
