[0:00] Kate Beckinsale opens up about harassment and assault that she has dealt with on set and says while she does not know Blake Lively or Justin Baldoni and has no idea what happened on their set, she is grateful to Blake Lively. Kate Beckinsale posted about a five minute long video on Instagram saying she wants to highlight the machine that goes into effect whenever a woman complains about something that happens in the industry. 18 years old. She was on set and got felt up by someone she trusted in the crew and went to the lead actress to complain. It said the lead actress is known to be a supporter of women, [0:30] yet when she complained that actress told Kate that it didn't happen. She said she then went to another actress and cried and said she was assaulted by this man and again was told no you were not. She talked about another time being on set where her co star was very drunk and would take six hours to memorize his lines because he was going through something difficult and when she complained to the studio they gave her a bike to ride around the set so that she wouldn't be bored waiting. Because she opened her mouth and complained, she was called a see you next Tuesday multiple times. [1:00] She was also called a B word during a take and said the director was the one that ran off crying and she had to talk Him off the ledge, come back and film. She said, twice she had to be put on a very strict diet because she wasn't attractive enough to the point where she lost her period while filming. She said she had two different films where she had fight scenes with another actor. And she said, there are certain actors who take a thrill to being able to harm a woman during a fight scene. She said she was harmed and has MRIs to prove it. It says, speaking up, she was gaslit. She was ostracized. [1:32] She was made to be the problem. She was left out of cast dinners. One time she went through a miscarriage, and her publicist told her she had to be at a photo shoot the very next day and said, I don't feel comfortable going. I am bleeding and don't want to be changing in front of people. And the publicist told her, you have to go or you will be sued. She says, well, she's never been assaulted by Harvey Weinstein. If she ever turned down a film, he would make sure she paid. He would call every director in town and call every editor for magazines and tell them not to use her, and it would work. And she says, this isn't a singular problem that's happening to just Blake. [2:04] This is a continuing problem that's been happening for so long. And if you are a woman who speaks up, you are f. Because A machine is set in place that will absolutely destroy you, and this has to stop.
